Beyond this point those who amped their physical acitivity levels above a modest baseline did not burn any additional calories. Fra <em>The Time-Saver&#8217;s Workout<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Normalt forestiller man sig, at jo mere fysisk aktiv man er des mere energi forbr\u00e6nder kroppen. Hvis man fx g\u00e5r en tur p\u00e5 1 time s\u00e5 har man, n\u00e5r dagen er g\u00e5et, forbr\u00e6ndt mere energi end hvis turen blot havde varet en halv time. Tilsvarende, hvis turen havde varet 2 timer, ville man kunne g\u00e5 i seng om aftenen med vished om at man har br\u00e6ndt endnu flere kalorier.<\/p>\n<p>Nogle forskere mener at det kan forholde sig anderledes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Modellen for <em>Constrained total energy expenditure<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fors\u00f8g p\u00e5 laboratoriemus har vist at mus, der arbejder h\u00e5rdere p\u00e5 at finde f\u00f8de ikke forbruger mere energi end mus, der har lettere adgang til f\u00f8de. Tilsvarende, har det vist sig, at dyr i fangenskab ikke forbr\u00e6nder mindre energi en tilsvarende dyr i naturen (1). De senere \u00e5r har nogle forskere sammenlignet forskellige befolkningsgrupper og fundet at det daglige totale energiforbrug ikke adskiller sig v\u00e6sentligt. Det omfatter bl.a. en unders\u00f8gelse af\u00a0det afrikanske Hazdafolk, der lever som j\u00e6ger-samlere. Fra <a href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1016\/j.cub.2015.12.046\">Pontzer et al 2016<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>De observationer, som er beskrevet ovenfor forklares ved, at mennesket evolution\u00e6rt set er indrettet til at v\u00e6re s\u00e5 energieffektiv som muligt. Det betyder, at kroppen\u00a0ret hurtigt tilpasser sig en stigning i fysisk aktivitet for at begr\u00e6nse det totale energiforbrug &#8211; og at det totale energiforbrug vil n\u00e5 et plateau ved et vist niveau af aktivitet.<\/p>\n<p>Der er flere mulige forklaringer p\u00e5 at kroppen tilsyneladende kan adaptere sig til \u00e6ndringer i aktivitetsniveau til et afbalanceret total-energiforbrug:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bev\u00e6gelsesm\u00f8nsteret bliver mere energieffektivt. Indl\u00e6ring af bev\u00e6gelser kan f\u00f8re til at de kan udf\u00f8res uden at det koster s\u00e5 meget energi.<\/li>\n<li>\u00d8get fysisk aktivitet i nogle situationer leder til energireducerende aktiviteter p\u00e5 andre tidspunkter; fx at sidde i stedet for at st\u00e5 eller en reduktion i bev\u00e6gelser, der ikke er direkte relateret til fysisk aktivitet.<\/li>\n<li>\u00d8get fysisk aktivitet kan lede til at andre fysiologiske processer i kroppen udf\u00f8res med mindre energiforbrug, fx neds\u00e6ttelse af basalstofskiftet.<\/li>\n<li>S\u00f8vnm\u00f8nsteret kan v\u00e6re p\u00e5virket; fx l\u00e6ngere s\u00f8vn eller mere rolig s\u00f8vn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Herman Pontzer, der st\u00e5r bag en del af unders\u00f8gelserne, og bag den alternative model, mener, at den parameter, der er ansvarlig for at Hazdafolket ikke bruger mere energi er, at energien ved basalfysiologiske processer i kroppen, omfattende basalstofskiftet, m\u00e5 v\u00e6re nedsat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hypotesen, der afskriver motion som en m\u00e5de at tabe sig<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dette vil kunne have seri\u00f8se konsekvenser for en person, der \u00f8nsker at tabe sig og tror at han kan g\u00f8re det ved at motionere mere. Konsekvensen af at l\u00f8be en tur, og forbr\u00e6nde m\u00e5ske 300 kcalorier ekstra, vil s\u00e5 v\u00e6re at kroppen efterf\u00f8lgende skruer ned for stofskiftet, s\u00e5 forbr\u00e6ndingen af de 300 kcalorier udlignes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forklaringsproblemer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Der er dog flere ting ved modellen for <em>constrained total energy expenditure<\/em>, der er diskutable. For eksempel kan man typisk m\u00e5le et s\u00e5kaldt <em>afterburn<\/em> i timerne efter motion med en vis intensitet, hvor stofskiftet er mere aktivt. Det er sv\u00e6rt at forestille sig, at basalstofskiftet alene kan udligne energiforbruget ved fysisk aktivitet med et vist energiforbrug fx en rimelig intens l\u00f8betur p\u00e5 1 time. Det er ogs\u00e5 tydeligt, at atleter, der er meget fysisk aktive, vil &#8216;spr\u00e6nge&#8217; kurven, som er vist i grafen til h\u00f8jre p\u00e5 figuren ovenfor. Endelig er der flere, som har v\u00e6ret fremme med kritik omkring, at data i nogle af unders\u00f8gelserne ikke er pr\u00e6senteret korrekt.
