I 2015 rejste han fra Holland til Danmark for at bes\u00e6tte et professorat p\u00e5 Center for Sund Aldring p\u00e5 Det Sundhedsvidenskabelige Fakultet i K\u00f8benhavn.<\/p>\n<p>Kunsten at blive \u00e6ldre er oversat fra den hollandske udgave <em>Oud worden zonder het ze zijn<\/em> fra 2014. Den danske udgave udkom i 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Titlen p\u00e5 bogen er ganske <em>catchy<\/em>, men l\u00e6seren skal ikke forvente, at det er et stykke v\u00e6rkt\u00f8j til selvhj\u00e6lp i hvordan man \u00e6ldes med ynde. Den dykker heller ikke ned i molekyl\u00e6rbiologiens detalje omkring \u00e6ldelsesprocesser. Til geng\u00e6ld leverer den en n\u00f8gtern overordnet forklaring p\u00e5 hvorfor vi \u00e6ldes og et interessant bud p\u00e5 menneskehedens fremtidsudsigter i forhold til levealder. Bogens vigtigste budskab er dog nok opl\u00e6gget til diskussion omkring, hvorledes vi som samfund skal forholde os til den l\u00f8bende stigning i antallet af \u00e6ldre. Her er forfatteren ikke tilbageholdende med at give sine meninger til kende, hvilket m\u00e5 v\u00e6re noget vores politikere b\u00f8r lytte til.<\/p>\n<p>Bogen tager ofte udgangspunkt i hollandske samfundsforhold, men da de i h\u00f8j grad minder om de danske giver de forskellige betragtninger udm\u00e6rket mening for den danske l\u00e6ser.
